PLEASE NOTE: The Hyatt has been sold to an Investment Group that intends to honor our contracts for the next FOUR years. John H. (Convention Chair) has talked to all of the staff that we have worked with over the last few years and has been told by each that they are staying on in their same capacities. During the next few years the new owners plan to upgrade the facility to make it even more of a destination. For those who have already made room reservations, effective 12/23, the new telephone contact numbers are 401-851-3332 or 851-3366 and reference 2017 RI State Convention. Room reservations made prior to the change in ownership are not impacted in any way.
ASL (American Sign Language) interpreters will be present at all main Convention hall events.
THE LAST DAY FOR THE GUARANTEED ROOM RATE OF $155 PER NIGHT IS FEBRUARY 21, 2017.

The Convention Committee looks forward to seeing all of you in March.
The Convention committee is currently planning for the next Convention to be held at The Gurney's Newport Resort and Marina (Formerly The Hyatt Regency) on Goat Island in Newport.
The Convention Committee plans for the next convention at the end of the convention year. The first meeting is announced at the end of the Convention and usually begins on the first Wednesday in April at the Area 61 Offices, 3649 Post Road, Warwick, RI at 7:00 pm.
The convention this year will be held on March 24, 25 and 26 of 2017.
If you are starting out in service, one of the great reasons to join our Convention Committee is the long serving members on the Committee that help new people. Every year, the past Area 61 Delegate serves as the Convention's Chair. There are opportunities for people who would like to assist in planning and preparing for the annual Convention.
The Convention Committee mails out flyers and assistance with mailing is always welcomed. Every year we have an Old Timers Panel, New Comers panel, Hospitality Room, Door Greeters Decorations, Registration Desk and Marathon Meetings. These all need to be staffed. There are many fun and exciting ways to help out! No matter what your skill level, we have a place for you and we guarantee you will enjoy being a part of this Committee.
How to participate with the Convention Committee:
Attend a Committee meeting and refine your interest. Be a part of the creation! The Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm.
