From the Webmaster
Greetings to you and thank you for visiting our new Rhode Island Alcoholics Anonymous Website.
This committee was charged with the redesign of the website to incorporate a more user friendly format. The committee decided it was best to rebuild the site from the ground up due to constantly evolving technology which websites have at their disposal and the aging technology which the prior site was built upon. It is our hope that this site as it stands now will serve us as well as the prior one did for many years. At some time in the future I am certain that the commitee will decide that an overhaul is once again required. I wish to thank all of the previous webmasters and servants who left me the platform and data which we have cleaned up a bit and will propel into the future.
Those of you who have been here before will find many changes but the majority of the information which was previously available online has been converted here and much of what has not is in the process of being converted.
This has been a large project and we are excited with our result. We hope that each of you share in this excitement. Take some time to browse around and feel free to let us know what you would like added to the site(also known as what we missed!). We will take all comments and suggestions under consideration and schedule implementation if it appears to be appropriate.
We are your humble servants and look to the groups and the membership for direction, but, be patient as we are still working on bringing some of the older content online.
This project was taken on by the Webmaster and the current Website Committee which consists of a representative from Area 61, RI Central Service, Southern RI Intergroup and the Convention Committee.
The meeting list and mapping programs have been updated and I think that you will find all of their information to be helpful.
Among other things that are planned are other menu bars which will link to new items, upcoming events, and many other things. We will also be adding shortly links to get information from AA World service. As is our policy, we do not solicit money on this site and we only link to other AA related entities for the purpose of passing the message to the Alcoholic who still suffers.
As we move forward, come back here for news regarding what our upcoming plans are for the site.
Sincerly and humbly yours
Glenn A.
